Elliot Earthmoving was formed in the early 1980s by Jack and Jenny Elliott. In the early years Elliot Earthmoving concentrated mainly on agricultural work with a little bit of fire fighting thrown in. With the arrival of the 1st CAT D7 came an unwritten contract with the APM forests which lasted 15 years.
Elliott’s worked with John Jones who was in charge of silviculture works to develop a ripping and mounding system which involved plotting rip lines running 1% towards natural draining lines. This idea reduces erosion and is now commonly used in the industry.
The turn of the century saw a high track D7H, D7G and an excavator arrive and Elliott Earthmoving won a tender for a section of The South Face Road between Erica and Mt Baw Baw. At this time a float and grader were purchased.
Since then Elliott Earthmoving have been working with DELWP, Vic Forests, Heartwood Plantations and have provided agricultural work completing logging roads from dams from one mega litres to a 100 mega litres in size.
Elliott Earthmoving have attended every mega bush fire in the Gippsland area over the past 20 years.
